For everyone born of God overcomes the world. this is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

1 John 5:4

This is the kind of verse that is hard for me to believe. Perhaps that is why John writes this next:

Who is that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

That's my job. Not to overcome. But to believe.
