Isaiah 53

3. He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4. Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.

Mark 15:16-20

The soldiers led Jesus away into the palace (thais is, the Praetorium) and called together the whole company of soldiers. they put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him. And they began to call out to him, "Hail, the King of the Jews!" Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him. Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him. And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him. They they led him out to crucify him.

John 19:17-18

So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. Carrying his own cross, he went to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha). here they crucified him, and with him two others - one on each side and Jesus in the middle.
